You Can Chill About That Double Chin; CoolSculpting Has You Covered!

According to statistics, only about 25 percent of adults say they are completely satisfied with their appearance. The majority of people would like to make at least a few improvements. The jawline and neck are high on the list of common trouble-spots. If this is an area of concern for you because of a double chin, we’ve got just what you need: CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting has for years been recognized as one of the leading body contouring treatments. It is commonly used to slim the thighs, flatten the belly, even reduce fat on the backs of the arms. What many people don’t realize is that the CoolSculpting device got an upgrade to its treatment applicator selection a few years back that has allowed providers to make double chins disappear.

Why CoolSculpting?

There aren’t very many options for losing a double chin. The area is resistant to diet and exercise. Liposuction could be done but most people prefer to avoid the minor surgical procedure if possible. And then there’s Kybella (which we offer), but some patients may not like the idea of multiple sessions of multiple injections in the upper neck, plus the swelling that comes after. CoolSculpting is a quick and comfortable process that does not require any anesthetic, does not cause swelling, and doesn’t need any downtime afterward.

The Process of CoolSculpting the Double Chin

The offices of Bucay Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics has been established to provide options for our patients. We understand that not every solution works for every situation. So, our first step in treating a double chin is to perform a thorough consultation. By the end of this appointment, Dr. Bucay will know what a patient wants to achieve, by when, and how much they can invest in terms of money and time. The patient will have detailed information regarding their treatment options, how long each may take, the number of treatments needed, cost, and what to expect in terms of downtime and results.

The CoolSculpting treatment procedure begins with the placement of a gel pad over the skin. This prevents direct contact with the cooling applicator. After the applicator is applied over the pad, the extra tissue beneath the chin is cooled to a precise temperature at which fat cells will crystalize. Patients are typically in and out of the office in less than an hour. After the session, patients are free to go about their day as usual. Mild redness may be noticeable for a short time.
