For many years, microdermabrasion has been a popular cosmetic dermatological treatment for the repair of acne, scars, sun damage, and the effects of aging. This form of treatment manually removes the outer layer of skin using gentle abrasion and suction. DermaSweep™ goes beyond conventional microdermabrasion, combining skin resurfacing and exfoliation with powerful topical solutions for well-nourished skin that is more beautiful after just one treatment.

What is Dermasweep Microdermabrasion used for?
Using gentle suction in a closed system of bristles, the DermaSweep™ device tends to be more comfortable than standard microdermabrasion with crystals. Because airflow goes through the moving, nylon or polyester bristles, precise degree of exfoliation is achieved in the most gentle, comfortable manner. This exfoliation can lead to:
- Smoother, more glowing skin
- Reduced pore size
- Increased blood flow
- Increased collagen production
- Removal of whiteheads and blackheads
- Restored cell activity for faster turnover
- Reduction in skin oiliness
- Diminished appearance of acne scars and other scarring
- More even skin tone
- Diminished appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage
Microdermabrasion for Acne Treatment
DermaSweep™ also offers the option for Epi-Infusion, which allows us to address specific concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, or dehydration. During the exfoliation process, the DermaSweep™ tip simultaneously delivers serums including substances such as salicylic acid, chamomile, and hydroquinone for such concerns.
Dermasweep Microdermabrasion Treatment
DermaSweep microdermabrasion treatments are completed in about 20-45 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. There is no downtime needed for healing, and many people see improvement after their first visit. However, treatments may be scheduled in a series in order to achieve the desired results.

Should I Wear Sunscreen After Microdermabrasion Treatment?
Microdermabrasion exposes a new layer of skin leaving it vulnerable to sun damage, so wearing sunscreen is necessary. You should avoid the sun for a few days after treatment.
Dermasweep Results
The results from Dermasweep’s microdermabrasion are temporary. To sustain results and continue to improve the tone and texture of your skin, microdermabrasion should be repeated at 2- to 4-week intervals.
Why Dermasweep is one of Dr. Bucay’s favorite treatments?
DermaSweep for a quick complexion refresh and glow. I love this combination of crystal-free microdermabrasion followed by an infusion of a customized solution, such a salicylic acid, which makes my skin look firmer and radiant. Other infusions can be customized to include vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, or growth factors, to name a few options. There’s no downtime or the need to stop my regular skin care regimen. The procedure takes about 20 minutes and the results are immediate, which is why I this is one of my favorite treatments when I want to look “red carpet ready.” – Dr. Vivian Bucay
