Laser Rejuvenation Recovery
One of the biggest concerns about undergoing surgical procedures, such as facelifts, to reverse the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is the downtime that is needed. It can take anywhere from several weeks to several months to recover. Laser rejuvenation does not have this type of recovery time.
Most laser rejuvenation procedures have no downtime at all. Patients receive the treatment in our office and are able to quickly return to their regular activities. Some of the procedures, such as photodynamic therapy, have only a small amount of downtime. Patients that undergo these types of treatments usually return to regular activities within 24 to 72 hours.
How Many Laser Resurfacing Treatments Will I Need?
It is difficult to determine how long it will take for you to see results, as every patient is different and reacts differently to a treatment. Typically, our patients see results after four to six treatments, but it can be as few as two treatments or as many as ten treatments.
Laser Resurfacing Risks
As with any cosmetic procedure surgical or non-surgical, there will always be the possibility of side effects. The side effects include:
- Itching
- Redness
- Swelling
