The way we talk about facial aging, there may be a perception that we’d like to do whatever we can to avoid it. Based on what we see in our San Antonio offices, we believe that men and women who are starting to see the signs of aging just want to gain a little control. Gone are the days of trying to completely hide our age. Today, the interest lies in subtle rejuvenation. We achieve this with non-surgical treatments that support skin as chemicals like collagen and elastin naturally decline. One such treatment is Restylane®.
What Restylane Can Do
Dermal fillers make up a large portion of the beauty industry today, not only because this treatment is convenient but because there is a long history of safety and efficiency demonstrated by products like Restylane. This line, in particular, has been in development since 1996, when the very first of its fillers was introduced. Today, we’ve got some Restylane products from which to choose to meet individual patients’ needs. At the core of each product is hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring polysaccharide that degrades over time.
Some of the products and uses of Restylane include:
- Restylane and Restylane-L are the standard soft tissue fillers that can correct mild to severe lines and creases.
- Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne are innovative fillers that have been formulated to smooth the lines and creases that develop around the nose and mouth, where natural movement is vital. These fillers integrate into tissue in a way that does not diminish the suppleness of superficial tissue.
- Restylane Silk is a smooth product with smaller particles of hyaluronic acid that are suitable for the fine lines that form around the mouth. This product is commonly used for lip augmentation.
- Restylane Lyft contains larger particles of hyaluronic acid and is introduced to deeper tissues to add contouring to the mid face.
Ultimately, every face has unique needs. Many of our patients achieve the best results when facial rejuvenation includes injectable combinations that are customized to their needs.
