Softness is a Slippery Slope

Facial Rejuvenation treatments | Bucay Center for Dermatology and AestheticIf you’ve held a baby in the recent past, you may have noticed much more than that fresh baby-scent. What many people notice about infants is the softness of their skin. It doesn’t matter if you press your cheek to a baby’s, or if you hold on to a tiny hand; that soft skin can make your heart beat a little faster. You don’t have to be in middle age to experience slight melancholy about your skin when compared to that of a youngster. The skin is constantly changing, and we may begin to have textural concerns as early as our twenties.

The softness of the skin is a slippery slope, but that doesn’t mean you cannot grasp on to a bit of hope. In our Sonterra and La Casita offices, we offer treatments that can bring softness back to your skin. We also carry unique skin care products that have been specifically formulated to nourish and rejuvenate on an ongoing basis. Daily skin care and professional skin care focus on two things: the regeneration of skin cells and the retaining of moisture.  Let’s look more closely at each.

Skin Rejuvenation

The uppermost layer of the skin holds a substantial amount of debris. This could be dead or damaged cells, oil, and actual debris from the environment. All of these factors can stand between you and the softness you want to portray. Softness is contained in the fresh, healthy cells that are hidden beneath the surface. We can help you draw them out with gentle treatments such as:

  • Chemical peels. The advantage of a chemical peel is that your provider can customize this facial treatment to your preferences. If you want smoother, brighter skin but don’t want significant flaking or redness, add a light chemical peel to your monthly skin care regimen. If you want substantial results more quickly, choose one of our deeper peels.
  • This innovative rejuvenating treatment improves the texture and tone of the skin by permeating the surface with tiny pin-pricks made with an automated device and microscopic needles. Treatment is comfortable and effective at promoting collagen production for both softness and firmness.
  • DermaSweep™ with epi-infusion can be geared toward moisture retention. First, the uppermost layer of cells is disrupted and swept away from the surface, and then the skin is nourished with a moisture-rich topical solution.

Softness is not something we naturally keep for life. It is something, however, that we can retain with good care. To schedule your skin-softening treatment, contact one of our San Antonio dermatology offices.
