It’s National Winter Skin Relief Day! This is the one day of the year when we can all come together and celebrate our beautiful skin. Whether you have dry skin, oily skin, or combination skin, this is the day to show your skin some love.

What’s National Winter Skin Relief Day?

Each year, January 8 is observed as National Winter Skin Relief Day in the U.S. This day promotes awareness of the skin’s needs during the winter and emphasizes the importance of properly taking care of our skin.

If you’re unsure how to show your skin some love, don’t worry! We’ve got you covered with three tips for keeping your skin young and healthy.

Tip #1 Limit Your Time in the Sun

Although it’s crucial to get vitamin D, you should limit your time in the sun during winter. The sun’s rays are much weaker during this time of year, but they can still cause damage to your skin.

If you’re going to be outside for an extended period, wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. And, if you’re going to be in the snow, wear sunscreen and a lip balm with SPF to protect your lips from the sun’s rays.

Tip #2: Stay Hydrated

Your skin needs moisture to stay healthy and young-looking. In winter, the air is much drier than in other seasons. Your skin may become dry, flaky, and irritated as a result.

To prevent this from happening, make sure you drink plenty of water every day. Drink eight glasses of water a day. You can also use a humidifier in your home to add moisture to the air.

Tip #3: Get a Medical Spa Treatment

Medical spa treatments are a great way to show your skin some love. Your skin will look and feel better after receiving these treatments.

There are many different medical spa treatments, but some of the most popular ones include microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser treatments. Talk to your dermatologist or esthetician to see which treatment would be best for you.
