Non-Surgical Kybella Injections
Kybella is not a surgical procedure – it’s a fat-dissolving injectable solution made from deoxycholic acid for the use of reducing a heavy neck profile. This treatment is alike a dermal filler such as Botox. However, unlike other dermal fillers, Kybella studies have shown to be successful in permanently reducing the dreaded double chin within the submental space.
For Kybella treatment to be optimized and meet your cosmetic desires, multiple injections per session are typically required. The number of treatments will be dependent on your individual needs – usually three to four sessions scheduled one month apart. Your results after a series of sessions will depend on the amount of excess fat you have accumulated under your chin.
Kybella Double Chin Candidates
Kybella is a recommended treatment for moderate to severe fat accumulation under the chin.
You may not be a candidate if:
- You have a lot of loose and hanging skin under your chin – also known as turkey neck
- You suffer from a medical condition that causes bleeding
- You have difficulty swallowing from a medical condition
Kybella is not a procedure that removes excess skin. A neck lift or liposuction may be alternative cosmetic treatment options that may be preferable for your personal medical needs.
