About Juvéderm
What began as a single filler has evolved into a complete line of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Juvéderm represents one of the most well-known injectables; a product used to both correct the signs of aging and enhance facial contours. Various Juvéderm fillers are used to smooth lines and creases, augment the lips or cheeks, reduce undereye bags, add definition to the jawline, and more.
There are significant reasons to love Juvéderm. When we use this filler, we see results immediately. Depending on the product used, these results may last 3 to 6 months or they may last up to 2 years. Touch-ups can be scheduled as needed and, if the outcome of treatment were not satisfactory, it is possible to dissolve hyaluronic acid with a special enzyme that is also injected beneath the skin.
About Sculptra
Most people refer to Sculptra as a dermal filler. We might not describe it exactly as such, but it’s the best description available. In essence, Sculptra is a biostimulator. When we inject the poly-L-lactic acid filler beneath the skin, the tiny particles excite cells in the dermis to increase collagen production. Collagen is the protein involved in supporting tissue firmness and suppleness. Around the age of 20, our body stops producing much collagen. The skin is supported only by what has already been made and stored, and this gets broken down by several factors.
Sculptra does not work like Juvéderm. This injectable is stimulatory so works in concert with the body. To achieve the desired outcome, we schedule 2 to 3 sessions over a few months. This builds the stimulation that is necessary for prolonged collagen production and a more youthful appearance.
