Before Your Appointment
There’s no major prep required before a liquid facelift, but a few simple steps can help set you up for the best outcome.
It’s a good idea to avoid alcohol, aspirin, and other blood-thinning medications for a few days beforehand to reduce the risk of bruising. Limiting sun exposure is also recommended. There’s no allergy pre-testing needed for most injectable products used in this treatment.
During Your Appointment
Your visit will start with a one-on-one consultation. Dr. Bucay will talk with you about your concerns, explain the products she recommends, and outline a plan that fits your features. The treatment itself is quick, usually taking around 30 minutes.
Using a combination of dermal fillers and neuromodulators like Botox or Dysport, she’ll soften and restore natural contours with artistic placement. The process is generally well tolerated and requires no sedation.
After Your Treatment
You’ll see some improvement right away, especially in areas treated with dermal fillers. Neuromodulators take about five days to fully take effect, so results continue to improve in the week following your visit.
Some mild redness, swelling, or bruising is possible. You can apply makeup after a couple of hours and return to most of your normal routine. Just avoid exercise, saunas, and lying flat for a few hours after treatment.
