Skin Rejuvenation

The dictionary defines “rejuvenation” as making someone or something look or feel younger, fresher, or livelier. Isn’t that what most of us want for our skin?

The skin is actually an organ, and the largest one in your body. Organs perform a function. Your skin’s duty is to serve as a barrier between the inside of your body and the outside environment, providing cushioning, regulating temperature, and protecting you from sun and abrasion. That means it is constantly exposed to all sorts of harmful elements. Fortunately, modern dermatology products and techniques are very beneficial in correcting skin conditions that mar the complexion on your face, neck, and chest.

The appearance of your skin contributes to how young or how old you look.

As you age, dark spots and wrinkles usually develop. Skin loses elasticity, and facial contours may begin to look hollow. Although external factors such as pollution may accelerate the aging process, most comes from a natural decline in the body’s production of collagen and exposure to ultraviolet light (sun and tanning beds). Your body also creates less hyaluronic acid, the compound that holds moisture to lend fullness to the face.

A multi-faceted approach to skin rejuvenation can be quite effective in slowing and turning back the hands of time. A customized program will address these common goals:

  • Address medical skin conditions
  • Assess risk of skin cancer through thorough screening
  • Eliminate or reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Erase pigmentation spots
  • Restore optimal skin tone
  • Tighten, firm, and add elasticity to skin
  • Make damaged blood vessels less noticeable
  • Improve the appearance of scars

Dr. Bucay is eager to put her skill, experience, and natural artistry to work revitalizing your complexion. With the latest technologies and training, she offers a comprehensive menu of treatment options. They may be utilized individually or in combination for successful rejuvenation. Some take only a single brief appointment to complete and involve no down time. Others are a bit more aggressive with a short recovery period. For 35 years, as a board-certified dermatologist, I have provided compassionate and exceptional care while offering the latest advancements in skin health and rejuvenation.

Health care continues to evolve toward regenerative medicine and longevity, and dermatology is no exception.
